Background:
1. Background: Market Trend of Photovoltaic Polymer in 2016
With the fact that 68GW global PV installation and 34GW in China in 2016, China has been the top PV manufacturing and application area. PV polymer, for example, PV backsheet consumption is expected to be 500 million square meter in 2016, and PV encapsulant material usage will reach 1 billion square meter. There are many more PV polymer applications like PV junction box, PV cable, PV sealant…etc.
China has listed polymer research for solar industry as key development in its 13th 5-year plan(2016-2020), during which totally 150GW PV installation will be set in China.
2. Topic：Challenge the Quality, Durability, Efficiency and Cost
As key material to protect the solar cells in PV module, the backsheet, encapsulant and other polymer material affect the quality, durability, efficiency, cost, life-span, reliability of PV module and PV plant. These challenges are always listed as below:

l How to meet the increasing market needs, differentiated area market application needs?

3. Industry: Global manufacturing of PV Polymer
With the spurt development of PV manufacturing and installation, China has been the biggest backsheet /encapsulant manufacturing country. The leading PV polymer companies like Cybrid, First PVM, ZTT, Sunshine film, Sveck, Jolywood, Fumotech, EM tech, Tonsan, Huitian, Renhe Taiflex, are all based in China. Non-Chinese companies like Coveme, Krempel, Isovoltaic, Dowcorning, Dow chemical, have set up their manufacturing capability in Suzhou area. The non-official statistical data shows that over 80% backsheet, encapsulant, connector, J-box is made in China, sold to the whole world.
4. Case History: PV Backsheet & Encapsulant seminar by China TestPV under the brand “ PV Top-runner Innovation Forum”
Since 2014, China TestPV has hosted several PV backsheet/encapsulant seminars in Suzhou and Shanghai under the brand “PV Top-runner Innovation Forum” (HTTP://LT.TESTPV.COM) which is a platform for series technical topics in whole PV supply chain. The partners include almost all Chinese PV polymer suppliers and the most global companies like Isovoltaic, Coveme, Toray, Dowcorning, Honeywell, 3M, Krempel, Filmcutter, together with others like Dupont, Arkema, Solvay, Daikin, TUV Rhein, TUV-SUD, TUV-NORD, CSA, UL, Q-LAB, ATLAS…
The seminar persists on technical discussion, focuses on PV polymer quality, durability, design, testing and update standard, refuse any product introduction and advertisement. Over 1000 attendees, 200 polymer or module related companies have experienced and benefitted from the seminar. The backsheet/encapsulant seminal has been the most popular PV material technical summit in China and is scheduled in the spring season.
5. Attendee and Content plan
As the key session of 《China PV top-runner innovation forum》, the 2017 PV polymer international Conference will have key PV encapsulant material, PV connector, PV j-box, PV cable, PV frame-sealing, PV tape…besides to the backsheet. The 2017 conference will extend the participation to more global companies and research institutes. All peoples interested in PV polymer and its raw material, R&D, manufacturing, testing, standard, quality control, application, module making, PV installation… are welcome to the seminar.
Simultaneous interpretation will be arranged.
A parallel session “Distributed PV market introduction of Guangdong Province” will be arranged during the conference.
